Lee Asher
SVP of Investment Properties

Lee Asher is a Senior Vice President of the Investment Properties division and co-leads the CBRE Healthcare Capital Markets Group with his business partner Chris Bodnar. Mr. Asher is responsible for execution of the team’s medical office and healthcare sale-leaseback assignments, strategy and positioning of offerings, coordination of the financial and underwriting processes, and oversight of the due diligence process. Since joining CBRE, Mr. Asher has been an integral part in the sale of more than 40 million square feet of office properties valued at more than $6.0 billion. A 22-year real estate veteran, Mr. Asher has the unique ability to combine his sophisticated financial engineering techniques and review-based intimacy of due diligence materials into the overall marketing process. Mr. Asher has assisted on transactions involving all investment property classes, ranging from $1.0 billion portfolios to $1.0 million single-property assets. Before joining the Healthcare Capital Markets Group, he was a member of the Atlanta Institutional Group – Office Properties and the former Managing Director of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions for CBRE’s Financial Consulting Group (FCG), a team that provides financial and analytical consulting to the firm’s capital markets teams and clients. Prior to joining CBRE, Asher was co-founder and COO of iTendant, Inc., a provider of service request and maintenance software to commercial building owners and operators.


Jay Blanton

As Founder and Managing Partner of Insite Properties, LLC, Jay is responsible for strategic direction, day‐to‐day management, financial analysis and investor decisions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University in Baltimore and a Master of Science in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University. Jay has been involved in commercial real estate brokerage,consulting, and development full time since 1987. Prior to moving to Charlotte in 1997, Jay spent ten years in Downtown Washington, DC as a commercial real estate broker initially with Grubb & Ellis and later with Faison. In Charlotte, Jay was Vice President, Corporate Services with Lincoln Harris where he represented such clients as US LEC, J.C. Bradford & Company, Interstate/Johnson Lane, ALLTEL, Wachovia Securities, Bank of America and The Urban Land Institute. During his four years with Lincoln Harris, Jay completed over 60 transactions in 50 states throughout the United States and Canada. Jay left Lincoln Harris in 2001 to form Insite Properties.


Daniel Buehler
VP, Facilities Management and Construction
AmSurg Corp

Daniel Buehler is vice president of Facilities Management and Construction with AmSurg Corp, which includes oversight of the company’s real estate portfolio and all design and construction projects for its growing portfolio of nearly 250 ambulatory surgical centers. Graduating from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture (Magna Cum Laude), Buehler has practiced in the healthcare architecture field for all of his 35+ year career, including owning his own architectural practice for many years. Buehler is currently serving his second term on the Health Guidelines Revision Committee (HRGC) which is responsible for developing design and construction standards for all health care facilities, the next edition of which will be promulgated in 2018. In consideration of his day to day management of AmSurg’s real estate, Buehler returned to law school and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2014.


Jonathan Buehner

Mr. Buehner works on Medical Office / Medical Property transactions at GE Capital, Healthcare Financial Services (HFS). During his tenure, he has experience originating, structuring, underwriting and managing Medical Properties loans at GE. During this time he has helped originate 50+ healthcare deals totaling $1B+ in loan commitments, led the underwriting of 60+ healthcare real estate transactions for $1.5B+ in loans and managed a $500MM portfolio of medical properties loans.


Jeff Calk
Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis

Jeff Calk is a partner at Waller Lansden and manages the Real Estate Practice group consisting of 25 attorneys and seven paralegals. He practices in the areas of commercial real estate and general corporate law. Mr. Calk regularly represents institutional users of real estate in acquiring, selling, developing, and/or leasing real property. He has substantial experience in negotiating conservation easements. His recent experience includes advising healthcare companies in the acquisition and development of unimproved land for future hospital sites. Mr. Calk has represented the world’s largest hospital company in numerous transactions involving the acquisition, development and leasing of real estate. In 2006, in four transactions with a combined value of more than $44.9 million, he assisted the company in the acquisition of unimproved land for the construction of new hospitals or development of new facilities ancillary to hospital operations in Tennessee, Florida and Virginia.


Tommy Catone
Summit Healthcare Group

Tommy is from Atlanta, Ga and is a graduate of the University of Ga. He has resided in Charlotte for 30 years during which time he has worked exclusively in the real estate and construction industry. He has been involved in well over one billion dollars in project volume. Tommy has specialized in Medical Office development since 2000 completing projects throughout the US. He manages client relationships for Summit with both hospital systems and physician groups. Tommy has 4 children and spends his time chasing grandkids and playing golf.


Paula Crowley
Anchor Health Properties

Paula Crowley has throughout her career been on the cutting-edge of real estate development. In partnership with Louis Sachs, Crowley co-founded the company which has evolved into Anchor Health Properties in 1985, where she currently is the firm’s Chairman. During the past 20 years, Anchor Health Properties has pioneered a new vision for healthcare real estate development, bringing the strengths of the retail experience to the healthcare industry. Tim Delgado

Tim Delgado serves as President of Read King Medical Development. Tim is a veteran of the healthcare and medical real estate development industry, and has worked closely with several major hospital systems and physician groups on healthcare developments of all types and sizes. Tim’s experience includes projects consisting of Hospitals, Free-Standing Emergency Departments, Urgent Care Facilities, Medical Clinics, Medical Office Buildings, Seniors Independent, Assisted and Memory Care Living Facilities, and Mixed-Use Developments. Ryan Doyle

Ryan brings nearly two decades of healthcare planning and strategy expertise, including administrative leadership with hospitals and health professionals in both community and academic settings. Most recently, Ryan focused on campus and facility strategies to accomplish market share and capital planning objectives for health systems throughout the country. His current work targets opportunities to connect his knowledge of urban planning, health care services, university-based research and technology within mixed use community developments. Ryan holds a Master of Health Administration from Indiana University and a Masters in Real Estate Development from Auburn University. He is a founding member of the Urban Land Institute’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Council and is now part of ULI’s National Working Group related to the Building Healthy Places initiative. Ryan is also an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association; and a board member of the Nashville Civic Design Center.

Daryl Freling

Darryl E. Freling is a co-founder and Managing Principal of MedProperties Holdings, LLC, headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Through its discretionary real estate private equity fund, MedProperties’ investment strategy is dedicated to equity investment in the development of, or value-added acquisition in, healthcare real estate throughout the United States. Mr. Freling has 27 years of experience in the areas of both corporate and real estate investment (private and public), real estate development and management, complex business structures, and finance. From 1997 until 2001, Mr. Freling worked as Senior Director of Acquisitions for Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, a NYSE listed office real estate investment trust. Prior to Mack-Cali, Mr. Freling joined Patriot American Hospitality, Inc. and Patriot American Office Group in February 1996, where he was involved in the real estate acquisition and merger activities of both companies, including the merger of Patriot American Office Group into Mack-Cali in 1997. Mr. Freling holds a JD and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas School of Law, and the University of Texas Graduate School of Business, respectively.


Chad Henderson

Chad is the Founder of Catalyst CRE—A THG Investments company and has served as the Chief Executive Officer since its formation. Throughout his career, he has developed numerous partnerships between hospital executives healthcare providers and physicians to design optimal clinical environments that promote speed to market and improved patient access. Chad’s experience includes development of medical office, specialty facilities, surgery centers, wellness centers, and urgent care facilities. Jud Jacobs

Mr. Jacobs oversees the firm’s development platform which encompasses a broad range of healthcare product experience including medical office, ambulatory surgery, senior living, memory care and hospitals, both sub-acute and acute care. He has assisted hospital clients with strategic planning on major acquisition, development and campus improvement projects. He has structured investment opportunities for the benefit of health systems and physicians. Prior to Caddis Partners, Mr. Jacobs led Trammell Crow Company’s national healthcare development initiative and was a strategic leader of healthcare project management services for CBRE. He has also held positions at Hines, Kenneth Leventhal & Company and HKS. His diverse career experience in commercial real estate includes development, architecture, project management, marketing, lease and sale transactions, management consulting, valuation and finance. Project experience other than healthcare includes high-rise office, regional shopping malls, structured parking and hotels. Since 2000, he has focused exclusively in healthcare real estate development, investment and project management. Mr. Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Real Estate Development from M.I.T. Bryan Johnson

Bryan T. Johnson is Senior Vice President – Business Development & Leasing. He is responsible for the development and maintenance of current and future healthcare clients using the Rendina platform. During his 15 year career in healthcare real estate he has completed over $1 billion in financing, investment sales, leasing and development. Some of his client base, but not limited to, ranges from large not for profit health systems and investors to small credit community based healthcare organizations and practices. Prior to joining Rendina, Bryan worked as Vice President of the Southeast Region for Siemens Financial Services. He is a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Bryan is an Executive Member of the St. Matts Dad’s club, a volunteer with the BSA as well as the PCAA.


Mary Beth Kuzmanovich

As National Director, Healthcare Services, Mary Beth Kuzmanovich heads up national business development for Colliers and relationship management with healthcare industry clients. Mary Beth has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare real estate strategy and operations, including her previous role serving as Vice President in the Facilities Management Group at Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS). There, she led the real estate services division, including leasing, property management, development and acquisitions. Mary Beth has also developed extensive expertise in financial management, regulatory compliance, corporate safety and emergency management. In 2014, Mary Beth led her own consulting business, MBA Healthcare Consulting. One of MBA’s key clients was Colliers International, which ultimately lead to Mary Beth joining Colliers in 2015. A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mary Beth is also active in healthcare real estate professional organizations, serving in leadership roles with BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) for the Medical Office Buildings and Facilities conference and with the Urban Land Institute Health and Life Sciences Council. Mary Beth earned her MBA and BS degrees from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Michael Lincoln

Mike recently joined MBRE Healthcare Group to help lead the company’s new business development and strategic client management activities. In this capacity, he will work with hospital and health system executives nationwide in reconciling growth and care delivery strategies with real estate considerations and capital constraints. Mike has substantial experience in both healthcare and fi nance, and will utilize his extensive network and resources to help further the team’s goals and operations. Mike brings more than 27 years of experience to his new role with MBRE Healthcare. He most recently served as an executive vice president of Business Development for Lillibridge Healthcare Services, a subsidiary of Ventas, Inc. Mike began his healthcare career as a marketing representative for Baxter Healthcare and was a licensed Emergency Medical Technician for more than 10 years in Texas, North Carolina and Illinois. Scott Mason

Scott Mason is Executive Managing Director and Leader of the Cushman & Wakefield Healthcare Group, Americas. He joined the firm to assume this newly created position in May of 2012 and is based in our Washington, D.C. office. Kris Miller

President of Ackerman & Co., Miller sets the strategic direction for the firm’s investment, management and leasing initiatives. Miller joined Ackerman & Co. in 1996 and under his leadership, the company has experienced significant growth and diversified earnings, solidifying its reputation as a prominent full-service commercial real estate firm in the Southeast. To date, Ackerman & Co. has developed and acquired more than 30 million square feet of office, medical, retail and mixed-use space and maintains an investment portfolio valued at $750 million. John Mugford

During his career, he has been a journalist for more than 25 years, including stints as a staff writer, editor and managing editor at a variety newspapers and publications in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Rex Noble

As SVP of Asset Management, Rex is responsible for maximizing the performance and value of the company’s real estate asset portfolio in the Eastern United States while formulating and implementing the long-range real estate asset management strategy. In addition, Rex is responsible for managing inter-divisional relationships, the portfolio’s strategic plan, budget and capital expenditures, lease administration, risk management and tenant and hospital relationships. Rex holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Francis Marion University. Benjamin Ochs

Mr. Ochs brings nine years of experience in the Development, Ownership, Operations, Financing, Asset Management, Leasing, Acquisition and Disposition of Healthcare Real Estate to hospitals, physician practice groups, and private and institutional healthcare real estate investors throughout the Southeast. Joining Brinkman Management & Development in 2006 as a Project and Property Manager, Mr. Ochs previously served as a Financial and Underwriting Analyst at a boutique consulting firm. Now serving as the firm’s President, he has led and overseen development of several Class A on-and-off campus medical office buildings, surgery centers and all types of clinics from primary care to Imaging and Radiation Oncology. Ben has been responsible for institutionalizing and growing the firm’s management platform from 250,000 SF of healthcare assets in 2007 to almost 1 million SF today. Under his leadership, the firm has added offices in Knoxville, TN, and Nashville, TN. In addition to his work in development and asset management, he has overseen the transacting of over $250 million of healthcare real estate assets. Mr. Ochs holds a BBA from James Madison University with concentrations in Finance and Management, the CPM designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and currently serves as the firm’s Principal Broker in the Charlottesville, VA, office.


Danny Prosky

Danny Prosky is a founder and managing director of American Healthcare Investors, which manages a diversified portfolio of healthcare real estate valued in excess of $5 billion (based on aggregate acquisition price) located throughout the United States and United Kingdom. He also serves as the president, chief operating officer and a director of Griffin-American Healthcare REIT III, a publicly registered real estate investment trust that has raised approximately $1.9 billion and is in the process of acquiring a multi-billion dollar portfolio of medical office buildings, hospitals, senior housing and skilled nursing facilities. Prosky previously served in an identical capacity with Griffin-American Healthcare REIT II, which merged in December 2014 with NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. (NYSE: NRF) in a transaction valued at approximately $4 billion. Prosky has spent the entirety of his 23-year career in the specialized field of healthcare real estate investment, where he has been responsible for more than $10 billion in transactions. He previously served as executive vice president of healthcare real estate with Grubb & Ellis Company. Prior to launching Griffin-American Healthcare REIT II in 2009 (then known as Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT II), Prosky served as executive vice president of Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT (now known as Healthcare Trust of America, Inc.), overseeing the acquisition of more than $1.5 billion of healthcare real estate. Previously, Prosky served in a variety of senior positions for 14 years with two publicly traded healthcare REITs, American Health Properties and HCP, Inc. (NYSE: HCP). HCP, which acquired American Health Properties in 1999, is one of the largest publicly traded healthcare REITs in the nation. Prosky received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree from Boston University. In October 2013, he was recognized as one of 16 “pioneers of healthcare real estate” by Real Estate Forum magazine.


Sushil Puria

Sushil Puria has been with Healthcare Realty since 2008 and is Vice President of Acquisitions. The acquisitions team sources, underwrites, oversees due diligence and closes the purchase of medical office and outpatient facilities that are primarily on or adjacent to hospital campuses. Since joining the Company, Sushil has successfully closed on the acquisition of over $900 million in medical office facilities. Brackett Flagship and its legacy companies have over forty years of combined experience in healthcare real estate, providing its healthcare system and physician clients a full range of real estate services including capital, development, sales, marketing, leasing and asset and property management solutions. Brackett Flagship currently owns and manages more than 60 properties totaling more than 1.7 million square feet across five southeastern states. Gordon is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and growth of strategic, profitable new business as well as developing and enhancing key client relationships. Gordon has over 15 years of medical real estate industry experience and has extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry’s trends and challenges. Previously, he served in a variety of capacities that included finance, investment, asset management, business development and client relations. Gordon is a speaker and moderator at various industry conferences, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Institute of Architects and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He also served four years as co-chair of the prestigious BOMA Medical Office Buildings and Healthcare Facilities conference during which it exhibited exponential growth. Gordon was the recipient of the BOMA 2015 Outstanding Achievement Award for leadership.

Henry Trost

Henry Trost is a Vice President at Avison Young where he is with the Healthcare Practice Group, a four-person team specializing in healthcare real estate such as medical office building projects and multi-market healthcare clients. He represents a wide variety of clients from physicians and hospitals to REITs and corporate healthcare companies. Henry is involved with market surveys and feasibility studies, along with leasing and lease administration. With over 11 years of experience in commercial real estate, Henry has worked in all facets of the business including development, brokerage, and project management. He was previously with HealthCare REIT, Inc. where he was Regional Leasing Director for the Midwest Region Portfolio. Prior to that, he worked as an independent real estate consultant with several development firms, acting as owner’s rep for both shell development and tenant build-out projects.


Peter Volas

Mr. Volas has more than 25 years of experience in real estate and healthcare serving in corporate and management consulting functions. Mr. Volas currently serves as a Senior Director at Cleveland Clinic, an organization that is consistently recognized as one of the preeminent hospital systems in the country. In this capacity, he spearheads the efforts of a diverse and growing real estate portfolio that is approximately 31.5 million sq. ft. in four states and Canada with an emerging international presence in Abu Dhabi and London. His responsibilities include transaction management, portfolio management information systems, development, due diligence, financial analysis, financing, strategic planning, taxation, and valuation. He also participates on Cleveland Clinic’s Real Estate Gift Acceptance Committee and Space Committee. In 2014, he was one of 35 Cleveland Clinic staff members chosen to participate in Leading in Healthcare, a 9-month leadership course offered to a nominated cohort of physicians, nurses, and administrators to procure advanced, top tier leadership training. Prior to joining HCA in 2007, Woods has worked in the title insurance business, mortgage banking and owned/operated a real estate brokerage company. He has extensive experience in title insurance, leasing, mortgage banking, sales transactions, healthcare development and healthcare compliance. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Woods received his bachelor’s degree in Communications and Business from Belmont University. He and his wife Mallory live in Brentwood, Tennessee and have four children.
